James Hall leads a team with experience in ecclesiastical law of the Church of England and in charity law.
Clients include The Bishop and Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the Suffolk Agricultural Association.
James and the team have, for many years, dealt with the Charities Act, constitutional issues and the Charity Commission. Whilst the needs of charity clients are largely similar to those of commercial clients, the team's background and experience adds a practical and knowledgeable touch.
We are proud of our asociation with the local diocese. James is Diocesan Registrar and Angela Long his assistant. Charles Boscawen is Deputy Registrar. Between them they have a wealth of experience and knowledge of ecclesiastical law. Although their work is usually for the diocese in Suffolk, they are prepared to assist in matters outside the area. James has represented a couple on an appeal to the highest court within the ecclesiastical system, the Arches Court of Canterbury.
