James joined Birketts in 1989. He is a partner and heads up our corporate and commercial team in Ipswich. He also leads the family owned business initiative across the firm as well as being involved in a number of other industry sectors.
James looks after the commercial interests of a wide range of businesses based all over East Anglia and beyond. This includes the drafting and negotiation of all types of commercial contracts as well as transactional work. Amongst other things James has been responsible for developing Birketts' trade mark practice and advises clients on all aspects of brand exploitation and protection.
James is based at our Ipswich office.

Prior to training as a solicitor, James obtained a degree in civil engineering.
