Early bird: When is enough, enough? Tackling long-term sickness absence - Norwich (1) - Fully booked
While overall levels of sickness absence appear to be decreasing, absences relating to long-term conditions continue to have a disproportionate impact and can prove tricky for employers to deal with in practice. Following a formal absence management procedure is often not straightforward, particularly if the individual is disabled and protected by the Equality Act 2010.
In our next series of Early Birds sessions we will be looking at the issue of long term sickness absence, considering the steps employers should take to manage the employee appropriately and sensitively in order to limit potential liability. We will focus particularly on the additional duties to and adjustments for disabled employees.
