We are delighted to have joined together with Arden Chambers to bring you our 'Current Issues in Housing Management' seminar in Norwich. Arden Chambers is one of the leading chambers specialising in housing management and is rightly described by Chambers and Partners as "a trailblazer in [its] specialist areas”.
These are challenging times for Registered Providers of Social Housing, with the development of Human Rights defences to summary possession proceedings, impending changes to anti-social behaviour law relating to injunctions / grounds for possession, changes to Housing Benefits under the Welfare Reform Bill, changes introduced by the Equality Act 2010 and other case law developments. As well as these changes, proceedings for rent arrears and the discretion to deny or suspend possession orders remain important issues for Registered Providers. Plotting a course through these issues is often fraught with difficulty for Registered Providers and this is where we hope our seminar will prove invaluable to you.
The seminar has been designed to allow ample time for your questions, with an open panel session featuring all of our speakers. Additionally, we propose to allow time for answering some of your questions on housing management in areas not covered by the above topics, for example on succession to tenancies. We shall be delighted to receive your questions for this part of the seminar in advance of the seminar day in order to provide you with answers on the day itself - please forward your questions to:
