Ronan Keating reveals separation

It has been announced that Boyzone star Ronan Keating has separated from his wife Yvonne after twelve years of marriage.  A spokesperson has indicated that the separation is amicable and that they will continue to work together in order to provide the best for their children going forward. 

This is no doubt a very difficult time for the couple.  However, taking more control of the situation and trying to reach an agreement seems to be of increasing importance to many couples going through this difficult emotional process, as seems to be the case here. 

A recent survey by www.fifties.com has revealed that the emotional impacts of divorce may last far beyond the period immediately after separation.  With this in mind, approaches such as the collaborative law process and mediation are now being used by many separating couples.  These alternatives to court proceedings provide couples with the option of trying to agree and resolve their differences in a much more amicable and constructive way, rather than leaving a Judge to make the decision for them.  This allows couples to manage their separation or divorce in a dignified manner and can also be used to resolve financial matters as well as issues concerning children.
