Experience

Tim joined Birketts in September 2015. He is a Partner in our Employment Law Team. Tim has over 20 years’ experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law. His dispute resolution work has involved the jurisdiction of the Employment Tribunals’ and the EAT as well as employment cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal on such matters as injunctions relating to restrictive covenants and confidential information and also industrial action. His advisory work ranges from advising on Trade Union Recognition (with representation before CAC) to reorganisations and TUPE related issues. His work is often of an international nature Tim having frequently coordinated cross-border reorganisations using his working knowledge of other European jurisdictions.

Tim has particular expertise in disputes in the education sector both in higher education and schools and also advises technology companies. Tim also has substantial experience in advising professional practices and their employees and members.

Notwithstanding his substantial litigation experience, Tim’s approach is to seek sensible outcomes to disputes and avoid litigation where possible and in the client’s best interests. He adopts the same approach in his day-to-day advice.

Tim is based in our Cambridge office.
