Lisa is a Consultant Solicitor in our Shipping and International Trade Team.

Lisa specialises in all aspects of shipping law and has a particular interest in charterparty disputes such as under-performance claims, laytime and demurrage disputes, unsafe port and stevedore damage claims. She also handles cargo recovery matters, both for cargo interests and for carrier defendants.

Lisa advises shipowners, P&I Clubs and marine insurers. She also handles High Court applications in respect of anti-suit and freezing injunctions. Lisa chairs the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy Time Charterparties and Advanced Chartering seminars, at which she lectures on speed and consumption claims, and also chairs and lectures at the annual Marine Cargo claims seminar.

Lisa is a graduate of Cambridge University, where she was awarded a First in French and Russian. She pursued a career in publishing before studying law as a mature student at the Anglia Law School, where she passed both the Common Professional Examination and the Legal Practice Course with distinction and won the Blackstone prize for the most outstanding candidate. She qualified with Birketts in December 2003.

Lisa is based at our Ipswich office.
