Experience
Tim joined Birketts in 2006. He is a partner and head of our private client division.
Tim deals with UK and international succession and tax planning, involving wills, trusts, probate and foundations for business and agricultural families, with a particular emphasis on cross border and multi-jurisdictional wealth and estates. He covers the areas of London and East Anglia as well as having a portfolio of international clients who are based worldwide.
His clients are frequently wealthy individuals and their companies as well as banks and trust companies. They often have an offshore connection either through citizenship, marriage or asset ownership with the USA, Europe and tax haven jurisdictions.
Other Information
Tim sits on the Law Society's Capital Taxes Sub Committee and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners. In Chambers [UK 2009] he is recognised by clients for "his proactive and problem-solving approach" and is described in the 2010 edition as someone who "has excellent technical knowledge and works well as part of a team."
