Leading East of England and UK top 100 law firm Birketts LLP has announced a record turnover of £28.9m for the 2012/2013 financial year.
The firm, currently celebrating its 150th anniversary, has seen overall revenue growth of 6.8%, an increase of £ 1.9m on the previous year’s result of £27.0m.
This follows the promotion of five new partners Louise Long, James Robinson, Stuart Raven, Laura Thomas and Lisa Wortley and the appointment of one senior associate and 12 new associates.
The promotions effective from 1st June 2013 were made across a wide spectrum of practice areas throughout East Anglia, taking the total number of partners in the firm up to 62.
The firm's strategic investment in high quality people continued throughout 2012-13, with the arrival of partners James Allen, Laurence Weeks and Quentin Golder from Taylor Vinters.
This year has also seen the appointment of Jonathan Agar as CEO in June. Jonathan joined the firm from Deutsche Bank where he was COO of the Corporate and Investment Banking Finance division.
Commenting on the results Jonathan said: "These results herald a landmark year for the firm. It is a phenomenal achievement by all involved. All areas of the business have performed well, exceeding expectations."
"It is particularly pleasing considering this growth is purely organic. Our sector-based strategy, increased investment in our offices, people and technology and delivering exceptional levels of client service has been a winning formula."
“We are confident that we will continue this momentum into 2013–14 with all our business areas beginning the year well.”
