Birketts LLP advises Servest Group on the acquisition of Maxwell Stewart
Leading law firm Birketts LLP has once again advised one of the UK's largest facilities management service providers, Servest Group, on its most recent acquisition of Maxwell Stewart, an independent maintenance and building services business.
The Birketts team was led by Rafael Ruiz, a partner in the Corporate team in Chelmsford and included associate James Davison and senior associate Greg Allen.
Servest identified Maxwell Stewart as providing an excellent strategic and cultural fit with the existing business and its plans for expansion and growth in the UK facilities sector. The combined business will have annual sales turnover of around £225m.
“This acquisition is part of our growth strategy which we aim to achieve through a mix of organic growth and further purchases,” said Rob Legge (Servest Group CEO - UK and Europe).
The combined entity will enable Servest to deliver key service lines of maintenance and building services, catering, cleaning and security nationally, enhancing value to existing and new customers through its self-delivery integrated solution model.
Rafael Ruiz of Birketts commented "We are delighted to have helped deliver another successful transaction for Servest and to continue our support of Servest's growth and diversification strategy. This is another great acquisition for Servest, who remain a highly valued client of the firm."
Birketts' involvement in the acquisition of Maxwell Stewart follows its involvement with Servest's acquisition of the UK’s largest independent caterer 7 Day Catering in December 2012, and the purchase of Stag Security Securities in May 2012.
