The celebrations continue at Birketts, as the top 100 law firm picked-up two further awards at the Corporate INTL Legal Awards.

The annual awards saw Birketts secure ‘Social Housing Law - Law Firm of the Year in England’ and ‘Property Litigation Law Firm of the Year in England’. The awards recognise those who have been successful over the past 12 months and who have shown excellence not only in expertise but in service.

This latest success comes hot on the heels of the property group being recognised by Chambers as ‘National Leaders (outside London)’ in the real estate category and Birketts' corporate and commercial team winning both the ‘corporate law firm of the year’ at the Dealmakers Awards and the ‘corporate and commercial regional firm of the year’ at The Legal 500 UK Awards. Additionally, both the real estate litigation and social housing teams were recognised as tier one in this year’s Legal 500 and Chambers directories.

Pete Goddard, head of Birketts' social housing team commented: “Being recognised as ‘Social Housing Law - Law Firm of the Year in England’ is a great honour. The team has built a first class reputation in the market for its strengths in development, including stock transfer, and its related discipline sectors: construction, planning and projects. Allied to this, we can call on our well-established plot sales function to support registered provider development teams.”

Richard Eaton, head of Birketts'property litigation for Ipswich and Chelmsford said: “We are delighted to be crowned ‘Property Litigation Law Firm of the Year in England’. The depth and range of the team's expertise enables us to provide our clients with fast and cost-effective solutions on all manner of property disputes ranging from the straightforward to the most complex. The team also provides advice on a host of other property related matters including planning, judicial review, compulsory purchase, public rights of way, common land and village greens.”

John Scannell, head of Birketts' property litigation team in Norwich added “I am delighted with this double award win. Birketts’ approach is about seeking practical solutions to legal problems. While the team has vast experience of litigation in the civil courts, we are all in favour of pursuing alternative avenues for settling disputes if they are likely to result in quick and cost-effective outcomes for our clients.”
