Private equity

The term 'private equity' encompasses a variety of investment transactions, including senior level debt or equity investments, second tier or 'mezzanine' investments, management buyouts and minority equity investments.

Investments range from development finance for a business with a limited track record, to raising capital and loan finance for established businesses to support strategic acquisitions.

Our work includes advising on transactions ranging in size and complexity from multi million pound investments by private equity funds to start-up venture capital for new or young businesses.

[The team] is noted for ‘the depth, breadth and practicality of its advice'. Legal 500 | UK 2016

We frequently advise each type of party to a private equity transaction. Our work for private equity funders includes advice on equity, quasi-debt funding and dovetailing with debt funders and management teams as necessary. We also advise management teams in relation to management buy in and buy out transactions, as well as business owners (often in the context of succession planning) who are considering selling their business to a management team.

Each transaction has its own challenges and nuances and we know that speed and accuracy are often paramount to the commercial aims. Our highly experienced team thrives on providing clear and specific advice to achieve the objectives of those involved.

Our private equity Fund clients include Matrix Private Equity, Sloane Robinson Private Equity, Key Capital Partners, Bond Capital Partners, CREATE Partners, CREATE East of England Fund LP, Cambridge Capital Partners and Norfolk Capital Partners.
