We have extensive expertise in the field of employee benefits, in particular with respect to employee share option schemes and the implications of such schemes both in terms of impact on the employee and the employer.

Employers can design their own employee share schemes but most prefer to make use of favourable tax treatments available through the four Inland Revenue approved schemes.

We also help clients utilise other employee benefits including life assurance, medical benefits and, in particular, permanent health assurance schemes by reference to the drafting of staff handbooks and/or employment contracts.

Of great significance to many remuneration packages is the cash bonus.  We work with the client to draft bonus clauses in senior executive contracts and advise on the operation of discretionary bonuses in light of several landmark high court cases.
