Our Shipping team provides specialist maritime and transport advice for shipowners, charterers, insurers, P&I Clubs and all those whose work arises out of the carriage of goods by sea.  We advise on all aspects of dry shipping, multi-jurisdictional litigation, contractual issues in relation to shipping joint ventures, port operation and expert inspection services. Our advice covers:

We are regarded as an up and coming shipping team both in and outside of the City with many of the team having ex-City shipping backgrounds. Because of our location we can provide a City service at non-London prices.

The team has wide experience of acting in shipping disputes before the English High Court and in London arbitration. With its links with overseas lawyers, it is also able to assist in multi-jurisdictional disputes in most parts of the world. Nicholas Woo has particular knowledge of and strong connections with the shipping industry in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China. He speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese. Sally Azarmi has strong connections with the Middle East and Iran. She speaks fluent Farsi. Lisa Wortley has been consulted by one of the major weather routing companies regarding voyage performance calculations and the English law approach to speed and consumption claims.
