18 teams took part in the event, with well-known names including Barclays, AXA and the hosts RSM mixing with local businesses and law firms including Attwells, Ashtons and Greene & Greene in a group stage/knockout style competition.
Birketts did well to find their way out of the group stage, eliminating the 2016 champions and 2017 finalists Greene & Greene in the process. They went one better in the quarter final, beating 2014 champions Whiting & Partners, before winning against International Flavours & Fragrances (IFF) in the semis and Finborough in the final.
A total of £2,000 was raised on the night for GeeWizz, a charity founded by Gina Long MBE with as a distinct focus and expertise in providing specialist equipment to children and young adults up to the age of 21, living in Suffolk and Norfolk, with life-threatening conditions.
