The two East Anglian business have previously worked together, alongside Scrutton Bland, to successfully launch ‘Be An Angel’, which has led to over 20 Suffolk investors meeting on a regular basis.
Sally Goodsell, Director at Anglia Capital Group, said: “Although there are currently about 18,000 angel investors around the country, there is a need for more individuals to become business angels to provide finance for these growing businesses, particularly in Suffolk. With Ipswich being recently voted one of the best places for entrepreneurs to start a business, Business Angels could play a vital part in providing investment, as well as much needed advice and support. We are thrilled to have Birketts’ support and are very much looking forward to the next event.”
James Austin, Senior Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial in Ipswich at Birketts, added: "We are delighted to support this campaign and to bring local entrepreneurs and angel investors together. We hope that it will help growing Suffolk businesses benefit from the investment and support of an experienced angel on their side. We are holding a number of events to raise awareness of business angel investing for both potential investors and companies who may be interested in equity investment.”
Luke Morris, Corporate Finance Partner at Scrutton Bland, commented: “Working in partnership with Birketts and Anglia Capital Group is a great way of uniting some of the best experts in business investing advice and opportunities. Our region is teeming with enthusiastic entrepreneurs who have great ideas, and we’re delighted to give them advice and support through these events.”
The next event will be held at Birketts office in Ipswich on Tuesday 30 April where Matthew Atkins will be presenting on the subject of shareholder disputes with particular reference to start-ups. To reserve you place or to find out more about future events contact [email protected].
