UK Top 50 law firm, Birketts, has launched a new initiative to support and inspire job seekers with disabilities.
As a Disability Confident Committed employer, ‘BE at Birketts’ has been created to offer an insight into life at Birketts and the wide range of career paths within the firm.
With the first event having taken place on 11 June at Birketts’ Ipswich office, the initiative has been delivered in partnership with the Job Centre and Reed and provides the opportunity for job seekers with disabilities to shadow members of the firm and learn more about CV writing and interview preparation.
On the first BE at Birketts event, Lauren Hills, Head of Talent Acquisition at Birketts, said: “At Birketts, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive at work. We are proud to have become a Disability Confident Committed employer, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing a more inclusive and accessible recruitment experience, challenging assumptions around disability and taking practical action to remove barriers.

The community-based initiative allows us to give back to the local community, while helping participants to better understand the career opportunities available here at Birketts. We are delighted to have partnered with the Job Centre and Reed to be able to launch BE at Birketts and are looking forward to expanding it further in the future.”
