Birketts secures £15m funding for Bliss Hotels
14 March 2019
Leading law firm Birketts has secured a £15m funding package on behalf of Bliss Hotels Limited to help deliver the group’s ambitious plans in Southport.
Bliss’ plans include the rebrand and refurbishment of the Ramada Plaza Hotel which anchors their multi-faceted leisure resort, The Waterfront. The scheme also benefits from a casino, theatre and conference centre.
Birketts advised on all legal matters with Andrew Ridout leading the transaction. Assistance was provided by colleagues Laura Jones and Lucy Broad.
Kevin Potter, Finance Director at Bliss Investment Partners, commented: “Birketts led the legal aspects in acquiring the Waterfront for Bliss Hotel two years ago and did an exceptional job. We therefore had no hesitation in engaging their services for this project. The team at Birketts has worked tirelessly to help achieve our ambitions.”
Melissa Loucas, Partner at Birketts and Head of Commercial Property Norwich, commented: “I am delighted that we have been able to secure this financing arrangement to help unlock this major redevelopment project for Southport. It was a pleasure working with Kevin Potter and team again and we wish them the greatest success with their planned expansion drive.”
