Michael Playford

Michael is a Solicitor within the Agriculture and Estates Team, having qualified in September 2022.
Michael is based in our Cambridge office, having joined the firm in September 2020 as a Trainee Solicitor. During his training contract he undertook seats with the Housebuilders, Banking and Finance, Property Litigation, and Agriculture and Estates Teams.
Michael works with colleagues across the firm, and advises on a variety of agricultural land transactions. This includes agricultural tenancies; farm and land acquisitions and disposals; secured lending, succession planning; farming partnership work; and general estate management matters.
Prior to joining Birketts, Michael graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA Honours in History, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies with a Commendation at UEA. After this Michael went on to achieve a Merit in the Masters of Law Legal Practice at BPP University in Cambridge.
Outside of work, Michael likes to spend his free time watching and participating in a number of sports including football, golf, and cricket. He also enjoys travelling whenever possible, listening to and reading about music, and walks in the countryside and cooking with his girlfriend.
