Álvaro is a dual-qualified Spanish Lawyer (abogado) and Solicitor (England & Wales) with more than 17 years’ experience in cross-border private client work.
Álvaro advises on a wide range of Spanish private client work such as estate planning and estate administration, charities inheriting Spanish assets, mental capacity and other areas of Spanish private client work.
Álvaro also advises on cross-border estate administration especially when civil and common law systems collide, as well as in matters involving the EU Succession Regulation and applicable law in multijurisdictional estates.
Álvaro is the Chair of the British Spanish Law Association (BSLA) and is the past chair of the Cross Border Estates Special Interest Group of STEP. He is a regular speaker at STEP conferences and events, Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) and other associations. Álvaro has lectured extensively on the EU Succession Regulation and Spanish private client matters.
