Barbara Hamilton‑Bruce is Chief Operating Officer of the firm and is responsible for shaping and delivering the operational strategy that supports sustainable growth and excellence in client service.

She is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and sits on the Partnership Board, where she contributes to setting and delivering the firm’s long‑term strategic direction.

Barbara brings over 30 years of experience across the legal sector, shaped by a deliberately non‑linear career. Beginning as a legal secretary and progressing through paralegal, lawyer and senior leadership roles, she has developed a uniquely comprehensive understanding of legal services from multiple perspectives. Her experience both within law firms and in‑house has given her valuable insight not only into how legal services are delivered, but also into how they are commissioned, evaluated and consumed by clients.

For more than two decades, Barbara has specialised in legal operations, working both in‑house and within law firms. She focuses on aligning people, processes, data, technology and delivery models to build resilient, high‑performing legal businesses. Throughout her career, she has seen the strongest outcomes achieved when lawyers collaborate closely with professionals from across disciplines, and she actively champions operating models that enable this cross‑functional approach.

Barbara’s leadership is driven by a commitment to generating meaningful, long‑term change in the legal sector.
