Chloe Goodwin joined Birketts in December 2018 after qualifying as a Solicitor in September 2018. Chloe is an Associate in our litigation and dispute resolution team based in our Norwich office.
Chloe acts for individuals and businesses (whether limited companies, partnerships or sole traders) from various sectors both within the UK and beyond. She has experience advising and acting for clients in relation to a wide variety of disputes including breach of contract and contract interpretation, shareholder disputes (including unfair prejudice petitions and breach of directors’ duties), professional negligence claims, defamation, and complex high-value commercial debt recovery (both in the UK and abroad).
Chloe is part of our equine sector group and is well placed to advise on any equine related disputes. In addition to this, Chloe is part of our food and beverage sector and has experience acting for and advising in relation to supply chain, warehousing and quality of goods disputes.
Chloe also has experience in franchising disputes. She has acted for both franchisors and franchisees in relation to default notices, terminations, post-termination restriction enforcement and misrepresentation claims.
Recent work highlights
BCNO Limited v Iain Cooke [2026] EWHC 1263 (Ch) – Acted for the successful Defendant obtaining a Judgment dismissing the Claimant’s claim in full. The Claimants sought various declaration from the Court concerning an alleged request for a copy of the Register of Members pursuant to s106 Companies Act 2006.
Acting for the successful Claimant company in a contract interpretation dispute following a two-day trial. This resulted in the Claimant obtaining a substantial costs order as well as the full value of its claim.
Represented a high net worth individual in enforcing an American Arbitration Award in England. Achieved a successful outcome in tracing the Defendant and obtaining agreement to commence payments of the debt due.
Defending a claim for alleged livery fees which resulted in the claim being withdrawn and the Defendant receiving a payment towards their costs.
