Jessica Godfrey-Withey

Jessica was admitted as a Solicitor in September 2015.

She completed her two year Training Contract with Birketts, much of which was spent within the Private Client sphere thereby giving her a good grounding in the area on qualification.

Since qualifying Jessica has become a valued member of the Private Client Advisory Team and is now a Legal Director.

Jessica advises a wide range of clients on succession planning matters including the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney, Inheritance tax planning and lifetime giving. Jessica has experience dealing with business owners, landowners and families with a number of complex issues – both from a legal and personal perspective.

As well as lifetime planning, Jessica is also experienced in the Administration of Estates having dealt with complicated asset structures, intestacy administration and trust matters. Jessica’s understanding of Estate Administration also makes her an effective Will drafter, providing a useful insight into the practical application of Wills.

Jessica has a particular interest in Trust matters and has experience of creating trusts, reviewing current arrangements and duties, as well as the tax implications and reporting requirements.
