Joe is a Senior Associate in the banking and finance team, with broad experience in general corporate lending and specialty finance as well as acting for other financial institutions, private equity sponsors, investors, and borrowers in debt finance matters.

He acts for banks and borrowers in respect of general corporate lending, with involvement in the tech, media and communications sector, energy and utilities sector and the financial services sector. Joe’s experience includes a broad range of financings, both syndicated and bilateral, including acquisition financings, working capital and revolving credit facilities and term facilities. Joe also has experience of leveraged finance transactions, having acted for financial sponsors, borrowers and banks in in a range of primary and secondary buy-out transactions.

Joe has experience in acting on structured transactions in the specialty finance arena, including borrowing base facilities, warehouse structures, loan portfolio sales, forward flow transactions and servicing arrangements. Joe has experience across a range of sectors, including embedded finance, SME lending, asset finance, regulated consumer loans, debt purchase and non-performing loan sales.

Joe trained and qualified at a leading international law firm in Bristol, spending seven years in the banking and finance team at that firm.  

Recent work highlights

Advising a syndicate of lenders in respect of a £175,000,000 revolving credit facility to a listed telecoms business, alongside a US private placement from competing private credit providers.*

Advising a fintech SME funder in respect of USD$45,000,000 revolving borrowing base facilities to fund its North American finance book, €65,000,000 revolving borrowing base facilities to fund its European finance book and a £50,000,000 Holdco financing.*

Advising a regulated consumer fintech lender in respect of fully funded forward flow arrangements to originate, sell and service loans for the provider of a fertility treatment insurance product.*
