Kate is a Senior Associate in the agriculture team, specialising in landed estate property matters and agricultural and rural property transactions, acting on behalf of landed estates, farmers, landowners, banks and others dealing with rural property.
Her extensive experience includes farm and land sales and purchases, country house and other high-value rural residential property sales and purchases. She also has expertise in landed estate property management, first registrations, farm business tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies, sporting rights and easements/restrictive covenants.
Kate lives and farms on a dairy farm in Somerset, in partnership with her husband, and this farming background means she has real insight into rural businesses and the issues important to those operating in the agricultural industry.
Recent work highlights
Acted for a national charity in their rural land acquisitions, with an acquisition value totalling circa £10m in years 2024/2025.
Implementing the deal required to enable a landed estate to obtain vacant possession from an Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 tenant so the estate could enter into a solar development.
Acting on behalf of a high-net-worth individual in their sale of a Cotswold smallholding for £5m, exchanging the transaction within three weeks of instruction.
