Katy is a Trainee Solicitor in the family team at Birketts, based in the firm’s Cambridge office. She assists clients and colleagues on a broad range of family law matters, including divorce and separation, financial arrangements, children issues, cohabitation disputes, and pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.
Before joining the family team, Katy completed seats in administrative and public law disputes and private client advisory. This experience has given her a broad understanding of both contentious and non-contentious legal work, as well as the sensitive personal and financial issues that can arise for individuals and families. Her private client advisory experience included supporting clients with wills, trusts, estate administration and lasting powers of attorney.
Prior to pursuing a legal career, Katy worked in the media industry as a magazine editor and digital content creator. Her background in writing, communication and client engagement enables her to explain complex legal issues clearly and provide practical, accessible support to clients during what can often be challenging circumstances.
Katy joined Birketts after gaining experience within the firm and subsequently completed a Master’s degree at The University of Law with distinction. She is committed to delivering a high standard of client service and building trusted relationships with clients and professional contacts alike.
