Layla Almasri joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2025. She is currently completing her third seat with the residential development team, based in Bristol.
Layla’s first seat was with the private wealth disputes team in the Bristol office, where she helped the team with contentious trusts and probate matters including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, challenges to the validity of wills, and disputes concerning the administration of estates and trusts.
In her second seat, Layla worked with the family team in the Bristol office, assisting on a variety of matters. Most of her work focused on divorce and financial settlements where she gained experience in out-of-court dispute resolution as well as court attendance. During her time with the family team, Layla worked on child matters including surrogacy and adoption applications.
Currently, Layla works with various clients in relation to residential development transactions. Her work ranges from completing Land Registry applications to drafting replies to enquiries.
Layla is a member of the CSR Committee in Bristol, where she helped plan fundraising events for charities. She has also volunteered for the Suffolk Law Centre, where she provided legal advice on matters relating to consumers rights, and child arrangements.
