Layla joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2025. She is currently completing her second seat with the family team, based in Bristol.
In her current seat, Layla is involved in a wide range of work including modern family matters, as well as working on divorce cases.
Layla’s first seat was with the private wealth disputes team in the Bristol office, where she helped the team with contentious trusts and probate matters including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, challenges to the validity of wills, and disputes concerning the administration of estates and trusts.
Layla is a member of the CSR Committee in Bristol, where she helped plan fundraising events for charities. She has also volunteered for the Suffolk Law Centre, where she provided legal advice on matters relating to consumers rights.
Prior to joining Birketts, Layla graduated from Cardiff University with an Honours Degree in Law and politics. Her passion for the legal profession led her to undertake the LLM Legal Practice and Advanced Drafting course at Swansea University, where she completed elective modules in Advanced Commercial Law, Advanced Criminal Law, and Family Law. She also completed her dissertation on human rights and public law.
