Raveena Rao is a Solicitor in the charities team at Birketts.
Before joining Birketts in the spring of 2026, Raveena trained at Bates Wells and qualified into their charity and social enterprise department.
Raveena’s practice has spanned a variety of purpose-driven organisations, including social enterprises, incorporated and unincorporated charities, and educational institutions. She has also advised corporates and individual philanthropists considering establishing a charity or non-profit organisation in England and Wales.
She works with charities on a range of issues, including registration, mergers / spinouts and restructuring, in line with regulatory expectations, organisational governance and sector best practice.
Recent work highlights
Prepared intra-group agreements and advice, in line with Charity Commission guidance on international governance and operations, for UK-based charities looking to expand overseas.
Advised a FTSE 100 company on setting up an independent charity to advance research into factory workers’ health and wellbeing globally.
Worked with an education charity to review, maintain, and withdraw from endowment funds in accordance with the law and relevant trust deeds.
