Experience

Dr Sue Chadwick joined Birketts in May 2016.  She has a doctorate in planning law and is a Senior Associate in our Planning Team in Chelmsford.

Sue has over 25 years' experience in both the public and private sector. She advises on all aspects of planning law with particular expertise in delivery of large scale projects and corporate governance.

Sue’s experience includes acting as deputy monitoring officer at Essex County Council, project manager of the Grand Arcade shopping centre in Cambridge city centre and corporate growth manager for the Southern Fringe and other growth sites in Cambridge. She is currently working on major regeneration projects at Barking Riverside and Ipswich Garden Suburb.

Other Information

Sue has lectured at Cambridge and Brighton University and is currently working with Dr Nicky Morisson in the Department of Land Economy at Cambridge on research on planning obligations and affordable housing. A London resident, Sue is also acting as an informal advisor to the Isle of Dogs planning forum on their emerging Neighbourhood Plan.
