Creating the right environment
Birketts are dedicated to building a flexible and inclusive work environment – one that listens to and explicitly values the happiness and wellbeing of our colleagues in all aspects of the their lives.
We encourage people to be themselves at work and appreciate the unique talents and contribution every individual can bring to the success of the firm, our clients and community.
Entrepreneurial Spirit
In line with our company values, entrepreneurial spirit is celebrated at every level and every discipline of the firm. Colleagues are encouraged to share ideas and concepts that will take Birketts, our clients and our colleagues to the next level.
Thrive
Our comprehensive THRIVE programme puts an ongoing emphasis on personal wellbeing, physical and mental health.
Through a series of webinars, training events, expert talks and other initiatives, we have made significant steps towards becoming a more informed, supportive and open firm with regards to both physical and mental health.
Diversity and inclusion
As we grow, we’ve been increasingly thinking about how to make sure we’re creating and supporting a diverse and inclusive environment for all our colleagues.
To help focus and measure our efforts in Diversity and Inclusion, we have prioritised five key work streams and identified associated practical actions and initiatives that we believe will make a real difference.
Five key work streams:
- Gender Diversity
- Social Mobility
- Inclusiveness
- Race and Ethnicity
- Mental health and Wellbeing
Are you engaged?
Colleague engagement is of paramount importance to us, therefore it is essential we regularly measure this. Partnering with an employee engagement specialist, we annually survey our colleagues — both to understand our current engagement levels and also to provide employees with a tangible opportunity to inform our people policies moving forward.
By measuring our Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS), we are able to quickly gauge employee advocacy levels. eNPS scores can vary from -100 to +100, with anything over 0 a good score. Our current score of 43 demonstrates class leading levels of engagement.
