Sophie Ransome



Sophie joined Birketts in September 2011 and qualified into the Employment Team based in Ipswich in September 2013 where she advises on a broad range of contentious and non contentious employment related matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, unfair dismissal claims and performance and capability matters.

Sophie has a high level of experience in reviewing and drafting employment contracts and service agreements and settlement agreements, as well as undertaking company handbook and policy reviews. This advice is delivered to both employer and individual clients. Sophie also assists with client training sessions, in particular Moving to a High Performance Culture and Employment Law Essentials.

Other Information

After studying Law at the University of East Anglia, Sophie went on to do the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Bloomsbury, specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence, commercial law and employment law. Sophie has also undertaken a post graduate certificate in employment law course.

Sophie is also a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association (ELA).

Sophie has also done pro-bono work with the Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality providing legal advice on a range of issues at their Law Centre.
