UK Top 50 law firm Birketts has raised £20,000 for three local charities at its five-a-side football tournament.
A total of 12 teams took part in the exclusive event, which was held on the main pitch at Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town Football Club, on Tuesday, 3 June.
During the tournament, participants were given the unique opportunity to play football on a Premier League pitch while raising funds for three very special local charities: East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Ipswich Town Foundation and Little Lifts.
EACH delivers all-encompassing, lifelong care to support both bereaved and non-bereaved families, while Ipswich Town Foundation is the charitable arm of Ipswich Town Football Club which provides activities to improve the health, skills, opportunities and lives of people across Suffolk. Charity Little Lifts supplies handpicked gift boxes to people affected by breast cancer.
Taking part in teams of eight, each was required to have at least one female player.
Former Ipswich Town captain Matt Holland led the prize giving ceremony after the event, awarding the Birketts trophy to winning team OCS Group.
Oliver Crichton, Partner in the Commercial Real Estate Team at Birketts, said: “Birketts is very pleased to have hosted our first charity football tournament at the home of Ipswich Town Football Club in support of three very special local charities. It’s been a great day and on behalf of the firm, I’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone who’s helped make this fundraiser a huge success.”
