UK Top 50 law firm, Birketts, is pleased to announce its client, Canonium Learning Trust, has been named Tes Trust of the Year 2025.
The Trust won the nine schools or fewer category at the 17th annual Tes Schools Awards, held to celebrate the very best in UK education and attended by teachers and schools from across the UK state and independent sectors.
Founded in 2013, Essex-based Canonium Learning Trust is a charitable multi‑academy trust incorporating a family of primary schools that serves communities across the county. Birketts has acted for the Trust since it was a single academy trust and has advised on every one of its academy conversions.
Jen Marley, Senior Associate in the Charities Team and Academies Lead at Birketts, said: “Congratulations to everyone at Canonium on this well-earned recognition. We are very proud to work in partnership with Kevin and the Canonium team. Our shared understanding of their goals has enabled a strong collaboration, and this award is a testament to their dedication and success.”
Kevin Panrucker, Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Canonium Learning Trust, said: “This is a huge milestone for us. Thank you to Jen Marley and the team at Birketts for their hard work and support over the years.
“Much of our success has been shaped by our approach to growth and development – supporting schools both before and during their transition to join Canonium – and the legal expertise brought to that work has been invaluable. We are very grateful for the role Birketts played in supporting the Trust’s journey, and we’re proud to be able to share this recognition with all those who have contributed to making it possible.”
