Katie qualified as a Solicitor in September 2006 and joined Birketts in 2007. She is a Senior Associate in our Employment Team.

Katie is experienced in advising both public and private sector clients on many contentious and non-contentious employment issues. She provides clients with day-to-day practical advice on handling disciplinaries and grievances, performance management and sickness absence, and has experience of advising clients on large and small scale redundancy programmes, including collective consultations. She also advises on large scale changes to terms and conditions of employment, most recently advising a number of clients on effecting pay cuts, reducing working hours and the removal of contractual benefits. Katie has experience in conducting a broad range of Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair and constructive unfair dismissal, national minimum wage, sex, race and disability discrimination and TUPE related unfair dismissal. She also regularly prepares employment related documents, including contracts of employment, service agreements, staff handbooks and settlement agreements.

Katie is based at our Cambridge office.

Katie has provided HR training on a wide range of employment law issues including redundancy, discrimination, disciplinary issues, absence management, and performance management.
