Claire Tollefson
Claire joined Birketts in April 2024 having been at a leading Kent firm for many years. Claire is a Senior Associate in the Sevenoaks Family Team and has almost 14 years of experience, qualifying as a solicitor in 2010.
Claire specialises in advising clients on all aspects of divorce and separation particularly where there are complex businesses, tax issues, trusts (including offshore trusts) and significant pension arrangements. She has a keen interest in preserving and protecting family assets and wealth via pre and post nuptial agreements. She also has a wealth of experience in complex children matters, including those with serious allegations of harm or parental alienation, as well as cases involving relocation, both domestically and internationally.
Claire approaches matters in a constructive, pragmatic and conciliatory way, striving for out-of-court resolutions wherever possible. Should litigation be required, she is experienced and robust, providing focussed advice and representation. Claire works collaboratively with her clients to achieve the best possible outcomes and is committed to providing reasoned advice and family-led solutions in a cost-effective manner. She understands the stress associated with seeking legal advice in family matters, and tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
