Fachiema is a Solicitor in our administrative and public law disputes team with a background in education law and employment law.

She undertakes a wide range of litigation and has acted for both claimants and defendants. She specialises in education law, whilst also showing a strong commitment and interest in the values of public law.

Fachiema advises schools, colleges, universities and local authorities in relation to SEN, safeguarding, attendance and exclusions policies, debt recovery and Teaching Regulation Agency matters.  She also advises on parental complaints, disability discrimination and also on policies and procedures, ensuring that they are compliant with the law.

Fachiema began her career in education providing comprehensive legal advice to parents and guardians in SEND Tribunal proceedings; advocating on their behalf, ensuring they understood the SEND tribunal process and guiding them through how to appeal an Education, Health and Care Plan. Fachiema has also issued legal proceedings in the Administrative Court, assisted with High Court cases and has experience in bringing private law claims against schools, for breach of contract, negligence and discrimination. Fachiema began her legal career after graduating in Law from the University of Kent in 2015 and qualified as a Solicitor in August 2025.

Recent work highlights

Reversed a blanket exams policy by a world-renowned university after drafting a letter over their failure to provide reasonable adjustments for a student whose medical condition meant that she had to take her exams on campus.

Obtained a special school placement in a contentious SEND appeal for a disabled child attending a mainstream school, who was being educated in isolation due to being a danger to himself and his peers.

Reversed a school’s decision to withdraw a disabled student from the sixth form after she had independently enrolled herself in two other sixth forms.

Secured a specialist, residential placement costing nearly £150,000 a year and thousands of pounds in provision for a young person with an extremely rare condition.

Obtained an EHC Needs assessment for a young person in a Young Offender Institution.
