Recent work highlights

Independent Administrator Appointment

Leading the administration of an estate whereby an Independent Administrator had been appointed by Court Order. The estate was also subject to multiple claims for provision under the Inheritance (PFD) Act 1975. The estate contained various assets and liabilities which were under dispute by those claiming against the estate, resulting in extensive investigation of the estate being required to protect the position of the Independent Administrator.

Will and LPA instruction

Acting for an elderly client on estate planning and succession matters. This included providing inheritance tax advice and the subsequent preparation of a Will with a mix of exempt and non-exempt beneficiaries. The instruction also included preparing and registering both a Property and Financial affairs and Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney for the client.

Charitable Estate Administration

Acting on an estate administration where multiple Charities were residuary beneficiaries of the estate. Due to the structure of the Charity that decided to take out the Grant, it was necessary to apply a specific piece of legislation for the submission to be approved by the Probate Registry.
