Isobel joined Birketts in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor and is based in our Cambridge office.

Isobel is currently completing her fourth and final seat with the Private Wealth Disputes Team. Isobel helps the team deal with matters covering Will disputes including 1975 Inheritance Act claims, issues with estate administration, as well as breaches of trust and estoppel claims.

Isobel’s first seat was with the Property Litigation Team, where she gained experience in drafting applications, preparing statements of case for court proceedings, carrying out legal research, as well as assisting with preparing court bundles.

Isobel’s second seat was with the Private Client Team, where she worked on a variety of matters involving estate and trust administration, trust and succession planning, as well as the preparation of wills and lasting powers of attorney.

Isobel’s third seat was with the Family Team, where she assisted the team in relation to matters of divorce, financial disputes, as well as disputes involving children.

Prior to joining Birketts, Isobel graduated from Durham University in 2020 with a First Class Degree in Education Studies with History. Following this, Isobel achieved a Merit in the Graduate Diploma in Law and a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course at BPP Holborn, London. Isobel completed elective modules in Employment, Medical Negligence and Family Law. Isobel is a Volunteer Coordinator with the Suffolk Law Centre, who provide legal advice on a pro-bono basis.
