Kasia (Katarzyna) is a Senior Associate in our construction and engineering team and is based in our London office.
Prior to Birketts, Kasia worked in boutique construction firms advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters across the full life cycle of a project. Her experience spans across housing, infrastructure, airports, hotels and mixed-use schemes acting for employers, developers, consultants and funders.
Kasia drafts, reviews and negotiates all common standard forms of building contracts (including JCT and NEC), consultant appointments and construction ancillary documents (collateral warranties, deeds of novation, performance bonds and guarantees). She advises on construction aspects of development agreements, joint venture agreements and agreements for lease.
She also advises on procurement strategies and guides clients during the delivery phase of a project, including live project risk mitigation.
Advising a developer in connection with procurement strategy and bespoke construction contracts for a newly created construction arm of the business.
Advising a sub-contractor in relation to an escrow account arrangement for a multimillion pounds project.
Advising a developer in relation to construction contracts and agreement to lease with a social housing provider for a mixed-use development, circa £45m.
