Krishma qualified as a Solicitor in 2016 and joined Birketts in December 2020. She is a Senior Associate in our immigration team, based in our London office.
Krishma has extensive experience in corporate immigration matters and supports corporate clients obtain sponsor licences and their employees to obtain their visas. She also has experience in advising businesses to ensure her clients understand their compliance obligations.
Krishma is also experienced in advising high network individuals on a number of personal immigration matters some of which have been complex in nature. These applications include, establishing an innovative business in the UK, family visa applications, settlement applications, naturalisation applications, advising EU Nationals and has experience advised clients on making applications outside of the Immigration Rules.
Krishma has been recognised by businesses and individuals for providing tailored advice and offering pragmatic solutions to ensure her clients objectives are met. Krishma also provides ongoing pro bono support within the community and is a regular advisor at the Anglia Ruskin University Law Clinic, and is a regular member of the ILPA working group.

Krishma successfully secured a Skilled Worker sponsor licence for a start‑up that had been trading for just four months. By guiding the founders through the evidential requirements and strengthening their compliance processes, she achieved a first‑time approval – enabling the business to access international talent at a crucial point in its growth.
Indefinite Leave to Remain Granted Despite Previous Criminal History
Krishma secured Indefinite Leave to Remain for an individual whose application was complicated by past criminal activity. By presenting strong evidence of rehabilitation, positive contributions, and compelling mitigating factors, the Home Office exercised their discretion in granting Indefinite Leave to Remain.
Visit Visa Secured for Iranian National Despite High Refusal Rates
Krishma successfully obtained a UK visit visa for an Iranian national, overcoming the notably high refusal rates associated with applicants from Iran. By preparing detailed evidence of the client’s strong ties, financial circumstances, and genuine travel intentions, she ensured the application clearly addressed common refusal ground, resulting in a positive outcome at the first attempt.
