
Layla joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2025. She is currently completing her first seat in the Private Wealth Disputes Team, based in Bristol.
Prior to joining Birketts, Layla graduated from Cardiff University with an Honours Degree in Law and politics. Her passion for the legal profession led her to undertake the LLM Legal Practice and Advanced Drafting course at Swansea University, where she completed elective modules in Advanced Commercial Law, Advanced Criminal Law, and Family Law. She also completed her dissertation on human rights and public law.
Layla has proactively pursued internship opportunities at London and Cardiff law firms specialising in corporate law, commercial law, and private equity. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered at Support Through Court where she spent nine months helping clients with family law issues. During her postgraduate studies, Layla continued dedicating time to pro-bono work through participating in the Street Law project at Swansea University and writing blogs for the Children’s Legal Centre.
