Nusrat is an Associate in the Sevenoaks Family Team who joined Birketts in February 2025, having previously trained and worked at several leading law firms.

Nusrat has experience in advising on all aspects of private family law. She has particular expertise in dealing with procedurally and legally complex financial cases often involving substantial business assets, trusts, pension and inherited wealth. As well as financial matters, Nusrat has experience with private children cases, Family Law Act, LSPO/MPS/Legal funding applications and Schedule 1.

Nusrat adopts a practical approach to resolving disputes and has been commended by her clients for her strategic thinking, professionalism and empathetic approach. Nusrat was a finalist for the ‘2023 Rising Star’ Asian Legal Awards.

Beyond her legal practice, Nusrat is passionate about promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the profession. She sits on the Law Society’s Junior Solicitors Network and National Junior Lawyers Division.

Recent work highlights

Representing the ex-girlfriend of a rising footballer, who successfully sought a top-up under Schedule 1 of the Children Act.

Representing a mother in a successful Leave to Remove application, following her having an interim prohibited steps order made against her.

Acting for a husband where the parties owned multiple buy-to-let properties, several businesses, substantial pension assets and several discretionary trusts.
