Leading law firm Birketts is honoured to support the second annual charity comedy extravaganza in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Happy Christmas Ipswich 2.

Keen EACH supporter Griff Rhys Jones will lead an all-star line-up – to be announced later in September – and hopes to top the fundraising total achieved at the first event in 2019, more than £70,000.

EACH and Birketts hope the show, at the Ipswich Regent Theatre for one night only on 6 December 2021, will be another sell-out event.

Forced to cancel due to COVID-19 in 2020, Griff raided the cupboards of contacts in his little black book instead, with EACH’s Celebrity Bottom Drawer Auction raising almost £150,000 after the final gavel fell.

EACH Director of Fundraising Kevin Clements said: “Birketts’ sponsorship of Happy Christmas Ipswich 2 makes a huge difference to the work we can do – it guarantees that every penny raised on the night will go directly towards continuing care for local children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and support for their families. Griff has an uncanny ability to round up the funniest faces in UK comedy, so I encourage everyone to get a ticket for a fantastic night of entertainment.”

Birketts CSR Chair Grace Kerr added: “All year we have worked towards supporting the incredible work of EACH for children, young people and their families. Sponsoring this event made perfect sense as a final show of our commitment to their mission, and I am sure I will be among many colleagues in the audience that night. I’d like to thank everyone at Birketts as well for their fundraising work so far, having collected more than £26,000 in the first eight months alone.

We are still bursting with good ideas and look forward to a final push towards our £35,100 target as we enter the autumn.”

Early bird tickets are still available, starting from £35 (including booking fee), and can be purchased on the Ipswich Regent website or by calling 01473 433100.
