Jazmine joined Birketts in June 2022 as a Solicitor in our Employment Team, based in our Ipswich office.
Jazmine studied at the University of East Anglia from which she graduated with a 2:1 degree in Law. After completing her degree, Jazmine went on to study the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Cambridge. She qualified as a Solicitor in May 2020.
Prior to joining Birketts, Jazmine has experience working both in-house for Suffolk County Council and at a regional firm.
Jazmine is experienced in providing advice to both employers and employees on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious issues.
Employment Tribunal claims
Jazmine has experience in handling claims made to the Employment Tribunal.
She can provide strategic advice to employers from the ACAS early conciliation stage through to full hearing, including preparing the Respondent’s defence. She represents Employers throughout proceedings and provides commercial guidance on the merits of the claim.
Education & Local Government
Jazmine has vast experience in providing strategic tailored advice to Schools and Public Authorities.
She is experienced in supporting education and local government clients in dealing with safeguarding concerns with employees.
Settlement agreements for employers
Jazmine has advised employers on terms of Settlement Agreements.
Strategic and people advice for employers
Jazmine has experience in supporting HR professionals in finding pragmatic resolutions to issues that may arise during the course of employment. This includes guidance on sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance procedure and employee rights such as holiday pay, sick pay and working time.
She provides further support on individuals exiting the business including guidance on without prejudice discussions, drafting and negotiating the terms of Settlement Agreements and COT3 Agreements.

Outside of work, Jazmine enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading and paddle boarding (when the weather permits).
