Kira is a solicitor in the Construction and Engineering Team in our Chelmsford office. Kira  joined the team in November 2017 as a Paralegal prior to commencing her training contract with the firm in 2021. As a paralegal, Kira provided a wide range of litigation support for the team. Since qualifying, Kira has continued to advise primarily on contentious construction matters and is especially familiar with Adjudication. Kira has also frequently advised clients issuing and defending claims in the Technology and Construction court, in particular in relation to Adjudication enforcement proceedings. Otherwise, Kira has extensive experience advising on a range of contractual disputes throughout the litigation process, including advising on pre-action processes, ADR and settlement, as well as issuing court proceedings and through to hearing and post-trial stage.

As well as completing 6 months as a trainee in the Construction team, Kira completed a seat with the Commercial Property Team in Ipswich. Kira conducted a range of property transactions and gained particularly comprehensive experience in landlord and tenant matters. Kira’s time with the team has allowed her to become highly familiar with an extensive range of property documents, which has proven extremely valuable in her role as a Construction solicitor dealing regularly with property, land development and construction documents. Kira is also experienced with Land Registry applications and processes.

Kira joined the Public Sector Team for her third and final seat, assisting with a broad range of matters including advising on public body property transactions and commercial contracts. In particular, Kira frequently advised local authorities on public procurement issues at various stages of commercial contract negotiation, including with regards to construction contracts.

Kira completed her GDL and LPC full-time whilst working at the firm, completing electives in Family Law, Personal Injury Law and Employment Law and achieving a Distinction.

Prior to her legal career, Kira studied History at the University of Kent where she received a First Class degree. Kira remains keenly interested in history and spends much of her free time visiting historical sites and museums, and is particularly interested in British medieval art history.
