Cornerstone – Construction Conference and webinars
6 July 2020
After the success of our first London conference in October last year, we had arranged a follow up for 28 April 2020.
Unfortunately, that was postponed in light of COVID-19 and we are working to rearrange the
event for the autumn, if possible. Keep an eye on our Events pages for details.
In the meantime, along with every man and his dog, we have embraced the world of
webinars. So far since March we have:
- given an overview of how JCT and NEC contracts might deal with issues arising from the coronavirus
- considered how payment is being affected by the coronavirus and what contractors can do to protect their position; and
- hosted a panel discussion with leading members of the industry looking at what is actually happening ‘in the real world’.
We’ve also been grateful to be asked to be involved in others’ webinars, including for the RICS, CICES, SCL and the New Anglia LEP and to present to a number of our clients.
We have had good feedback to date, and we think they work well – although we do miss networking over coffee and bacon rolls. We are looking to put more webinars on over the next few weeks and months so, if you have any topics you’d like us to discuss, please get in touch. We would also be interested to know what you think about format – for example whether you think presentations work best, panel discussions or a mixture.
In the meantime, our next planned webinar will take place at 11:00am on 9 July 2020. Our
panel discussion will consider ‘The Pitfalls of Adjudication’. Sign up for your free place here.
