Since the last edition of Cornerstone, Birketts’ Construction and Engineering Team has further expanded with two new joiners.
First, Tim Hall has joined as a Legal Director. Tim has over 20 years’ experience and specialises in non-contentious engineering and construction law, based in our Cambridge office. During his career Tim has acted for multinational companies, financial institutions, public, charitable and private sector procurers of construction and engineering work, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
Meanwhile, Emma Chiaramello joins us as an Associate. Emma deals with a range of legal issues which have a significant impact on the construction industry including recovery of interim and final payments, dealing with claims for extensions of time and loss and expense, variations and defects issues, and professional negligence claims. Emma also advises on non-contentious construction matters including negotiating and advising on the usual standard form contracts and drafting bespoke terms and conditions.
The team now has 15 fee earners plus a range of support staff who practice nothing but construction law, one of the largest dedicated construction teams in East Anglia and the surrounding area. We are top-ranked by both the main legal directories: Chambers & Partners notes our “impressive depth and coverage across the whole region” while Legal 500 mentions praise for our “combination of ‘clear, accurate advice and excellent value’”. If you have any queries or would just like to discuss what we do and how we can assist, please get in touch.
