Leading East Anglian law firm, Birketts, has advised Cambridgeshire County Council on its acquisition of a ten acre industrial estate in Peterborough for £11.57m.
This deal marks the fourth strategic investment Cambridgeshire County Council has made as it seeks to diversify its income portfolio. The Kingsbridge Centre site in Sturrock Way is home to the UK headquarters of award winning materials technology company E-Leather Ltd, along with the world’s largest distributor of Caterpillar products, Finnings (UK) Ltd.
The transaction was led by Commercial Property Partner Cameron Barlow with support from Cara Keen (Commercial Property).
Tom Kelly, Head of Finance at Cambridgeshire County Council, stated: “We have once again turned to Birketts to provide user friendly and efficient commercial advice. The Real Estate Investment team at Birketts understand how we work and have a way of punching through and addressing key issues while streamlining the remainder of the process.”
Cameron Barlow, Partner in Birketts’ Commercial Property Team and Head of the firm’s Real Estate Investment sector group, concluded: “We were delighted to support Cambridgeshire County Council with its latest tactical acquisition. The team is always a pleasure to deal with and we value the opportunity to assist in the implementation of their important investment objectives for the county.”
