Birketts, a UK Top 50 law firm, has launched a dedicated Trusts & Fiduciary Team to deepen its advisory and management offering to trustees of trusts, executors of estates and other persons with fiduciary obligations. The Team provides tax and wider financial compliance services to such persons, as well as administration and management services and related advice.
The Team’s creation is accompanied by the arrival of Yasmin Metcalfe, who has joined the firm as Principal, Trusts & Fiduciary.
Yasmin brings over 14 years’ experience in the management, taxation and administration of trusts. Before joining Birketts, Yasmin worked at a legal 100 firm based in Bristol, managing a portfolio of trusts, as well as tax and compliance reporting. Her highly specialist expertise includes advising trustees and beneficiaries on technical tax and trust issues, as well as their duties and responsibilities. Yasmin also advises on the establishment and governance of trust corporations. These entities have become increasingly popular in the legal sector in recent years, as law firms seek to offer clients continuity and mitigate risk when acting in a fiduciary capacity.
