Leading law firm Birketts has boosted its family law expertise with the arrival of new Partner, Tom Quinn. Tom will be based in London but will support colleagues across the firm’s five locations. He will be looking to expand the family team round him in London.
Having worked previously at one of London’s Magic Circle firms before almost three years at a family law boutique firm, Tom brings over fourteen years of experience Birketts, having worked previously at two Tier one firms.
He has previously acted for clients across the full range of matters arising out of relationship breakdown including divorce and separation, advice on pre and post-nuptial agreements and co-habitation settlements. He also advises on children related issues, including residence and contact disputes.
Tom specialises in dealing with complex high-value financial disputes involving trusts, foreign and business assets and landed estates. Where necessary he will advise on issues surrounding children including where they live and the time they spend with the other parent (residence and contact disputes).
Of his appointment, Tom Quinn commented: “I am delighted to join such a client-focused and friendly team who are recognised for their compassion as well as their sound advice. I look forward to working alongside talented colleagues, undertaking new challenges and helping clients reach their goals.”
Oliver Gravell, Partner and Head of the Family Team, said of Tom’s appointment: “I am very pleased to welcome Tom to the team. We are excited by the expansion he offers and will lead into the London market. His experience with jurisdictional issues fits in well with Birketts’ growing international offering. Tom’s skills in handling challenging cases, coupled with his knowledge of the court and his approachable nature will make him a powerful asset to the team and a valuable source of support for clients dealing with their complex personal matters in often trying circumstances.”
